Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 12, 2026. This policy covers brumabreath.com and the Bruma mobile app.

Who we are

Bruma is a guided breathwork product: a website at brumabreath.com and a mobile app for iPhone and Android. We do not require accounts or passwords. This policy explains what information is used when you visit the site or use the app.

Not medical advice

Bruma is for general wellness and education. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. If you have a health concern, talk with a qualified clinician before practicing breathwork.

Mobile app

The Bruma mobile app is designed to work offline. It does not create an account, and it does not send your practice history to our servers.

Information stored only on your device may include:

  • Language preference
  • Practice log details such as session count, minutes practiced, and day streak
  • Chosen nature sound pack and custom rhythm settings

You can clear this information by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app, or by resetting your practice history from the app's Settings screen.

The mobile app includes no advertising. Crash reporting is on by default. Technical error reports are sent to Sentry, our error-reporting provider, to help us fix problems. Those reports contain diagnostic information such as the error, the app version and the device model. They never contain your practice history, and they carry no name, email address or account, because the app has none. You can turn off "Share crash reports" in Settings at any time, and reporting stops immediately.

The mobile app records anonymous product events, such as which practice was started and whether it was completed, with PostHog, our analytics provider, on US Cloud servers. On store and development builds it also records a replay of the app's screens. All text and images are masked before anything leaves your device, so the replay shows layout and interaction rather than content. These reports carry no name, email address or account. They never contain your practice history.

Crash reports can be turned off in Settings. Neither crash reports nor usage data include your practice history.

If you turn on the daily reminder, it is scheduled by your device. No reminder data is sent to us or to anyone else.

Website

The website helps you choose or generate a breathing practice in your browser. It does not require you to create an account.

When you use the website, we may process:

  • Session data in a signed cookie, such as intake answers and the practice currently in progress
  • Language preference (via a language cookie)
  • A CSRF security cookie used to protect forms
  • Anonymous product events, such as whether someone opened a completion screen or tapped share. These events do not include your name or email
  • Standard server logs (for example IP address, user agent, and requested URL) used to operate and secure the site

If you use the custom practice flow, the feelings you type may be sent to an AI provider (OpenAI) only to generate a practice suggestion. We do not use that text to create a user profile.

Journeys (custom meditation and hypnosis)

Journeys is the one part of Bruma that keeps what you wrote. There is no account and nothing to sign in to. Everything below applies only if you use it.

When you make a journey, we store:

  • What you typed about what you want from the session, kept so the journey can be shown to you again
  • The script that was written for you, and the narration audio recorded from it
  • Your choices of session type, background sound, narrator and length
  • A random identifier stored in your browser's session cookie, which is the only thing linking a journey to you. It is not a name, an email address, or anything we can trace back to a person

What you type is sent to an AI provider (OpenAI) to write the script, and the script is sent to a text-to-speech provider (OpenAI or ElevenLabs) to be read aloud. It is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not shared with anyone else.

Your journeys are reachable only from the browser that made them. Narration audio is never placed at a public address: it is served only after checking that the journey belongs to the browser asking for it.

Because the link is a browser cookie rather than an account, clearing your site data, or using a different browser or device, means you can no longer reach journeys you made — we have no way to match them back to you. Deleting a journey removes its script and its narration audio straight away.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website uses cookies that are needed for the session, language, and security. In production, the website also loads FullStory, a session-replay service that helps us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. FullStory may collect device and interaction data according to its own privacy policy.

How long we keep information

Browser session data lasts for the life of the cookie or until you clear site data. Anonymous product events and server logs are kept only as long as needed for operations, security, and product improvement, then discarded or rotated as part of normal hosting practice. Mobile-app data stays on your device until you remove it.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run Bruma (for example hosting, session replay on the website, and AI practice generation when you use that flow), or when required by law.

Children

Bruma is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the website, contact us and we will delete it where applicable.

Your choices

You can clear cookies and site data in your browser, and clear or uninstall the mobile app to remove on-device data. Because we do not run accounts, there is usually no profile to download or delete on our servers.

Changes

We may update this policy as Bruma changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site or app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
